The 2010 December Daring Bakers’ challenge was hosted by Penny of Sweet Sadie’s Baking. She chose to challenge Daring Bakers’ to make Stollen. She adapted a friend’s family recipe and combined it with information from friends, techniques from Peter Reinhart’s book………and Martha Stewart’s demonstration.
Another challenge that pushed the boundaries a bit, not something I would’ve made had it not been a challenge.
I used blueberries and cherries.
Overall it was a little dry for my liking, but I think I did bake it for a little longer than I should have. Also, I didn’t seal the marzipan in well enough: hence the gooey marzipan in the last picture.
